Platja de Ses Illetes does not have lifeguards or many other amenities, except a few nearby restaurants, so plan your trip accordingly.

Platja de Ses Illetes offers many fun activities, including sunbathing, beachcombing, tidepooling, kayaking, canoeing, boating, snorkeling, and diving.  If you are planning to go into the water, it is a perfect spot to swim as the waves are usually calm as the beach is protected by six islets that lie just off the coast. However, visitors can enjoy long walk during winter months as water is known to have cold temperatures.  The water near the beach is shallow, making it ideal for kayaks, canoes, and small boats.  If you enjoy tidepooling, you may spot an array of marine life, making it a fascinating spot for nature enthusiasts.  It is important to note that part of this Platja de Ses Illetes is often considered a nude beach – there is a designated clothing-optional area on the northern part of the beach.  Dogs are not allowed here, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

It is important to note that the only way to reach Formentera Island is by boat.  If you are traveling from Ibiza, you can book a ferry that departs from Eivissa Harbour located at Avinguda de Santa Eulària des Riu, 17, which takes around 30 minutes to reach Formentera's port of La Savina and costs between €18 and €29.  There are multiple ferry crossings between the islands throughout the day. 

If you are traveling from Dénia, there are at least seven weekly voyages.  You can book a ferry that leaves from Dénia Port, located at Estación Marítima, S/N, Alicante, and reach Formentera in around two hours for a starting price of €66.

If you are coming from Barcelona, visitors can book a ferry that departs daily from Port Barcelona, located at Moll Adossat 6, and reach Formentera in around twelve hours for a starting price of €62.

Please also note that these ferry operators offer visitors the option to transfer their cars to Formentera on a ferry with them, for which you have to pay and book in advance.

In addition, visitors can also charter their own boats from each of these locations.

Once you are on Formentera Island, getting to Platja de Ses Illetes is easy - the beach has several street parking spots located near Camino de Ses Illetes.  Visitors have to pay six euros as an entrance fee and park their vehicles here, while access by bicycle and foot is totally free.  It is important to note that there are certain protected areas near the beach, so we recommend parking your car without causing harm to the terrain.  The beach can also be reached by a public bus (line L3), which stops around half a kilometer from the beach.

 The name of the beach means “beach of the small islands,” which refers to several islets that lie off this stretch of coast and are known by the names Illa de Tramuntana, Illa des Forn, Escull des Pou, Illa Redona, and Escull d’en Palla.

There are many attractions near Platja de Ses Illetes.  Molino Viejo de la Mola is one of the seven wind-powered flour mills in the area, which played a crucial role in the island’s flour production.  Torre La Gavina is an 18th-century defense tower built on the cliffs of Punta Gavina that was used to monitor the arrival of enemy ships in the west of the island and provide incredible views of Ibiza and Es Vedrà.  Camí de Sa Pujada is a three-mile long, dog-friendly, moderately challenging hiking trail that starts from Es Caló, a small fishing village that leads to an old quarry of marés (limestone), a small cave, the vineyards, and finishes at the Lighthouse of Cap de Barbaria.  It offers incredible views of the island and provides an unforgettable hiking experience.  

Cap de Barbaria Lighthouse is situated at the southernmost point of Formentera, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was built in 1972 to navigate the ships safely along the coastline and to mark the dangerous rocks and cliffs in the area.  If you are looking for another attraction near Platja de Ses Illetes, Es Pujols is a small coastal village on the island of Formentera that offers many amenities, including a variety of seafood restaurants, bars, shops, and nightlife.  Visitors can enjoy many fun activities, including snorkeling, swimming, diving, paddleboarding, windsurfing, jet skiing, and boating.  It is a great place to stroll and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere during the evening.
