Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, fishing,
basketball, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing,
skimboarding, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, boating, jet-skiing, wildlife
watching, surf-skiing, kayaking, and canoeing.
If you are
planning to kayak, surf, canoe, or paddleboard near Little Island Park – North Beach,
we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have
unpredictable rip currents and dangerous waves.

canoe, surf-ski, or any other watercraft from Little Island Park – North Beach,
please visit the city of Virginia Beach’s website for more information on the
local seasonal watercraft launching and landing restrictions.
Please also
note that swimming is usually prohibited near this beach. If you want to swim, you can visit a nearby
beach named Little Island Park – South Beachwhere swimming is allowed.
If you like
fishing, the 400-feet-long Little Island Fishing Pier – located on the south end of
Little Island Park –North Beach – is an ideal
fishing site and offers a great fishing experience. If you are planning to fish near Little
Island Park – North Beach, please note that fishing is only
allowed in the water that is located towards the south of Little Island Fishing
Pier. In addition, please also note that
non-local visitors fishing from Little Island Fishing Pier need to pay a $10
fee.

birdwatching, you can see many kinds of birds near Little Island Park – North
Beach, particularly during the winter including gulls, starling, terns, and
ducks.
