Getting to Barbers Point Beach Park is easy - from Queen Liliʻuokalani Freeway (which is also known as Queen Liliuokalani Freeway or Interstate H-1), you need to turn towards Kalaeloa Boulevard. From Kalaeloa Boulevard, you need to turn towards Olai Street. Barbers Point Beach Park is located near the end of Olai Street, where a free parking lot is also available - we recommend avoiding leaving any valuables in your car while parking it in the lot near Barbers Point Beach Park as burglary attempts have been known to occur in this area. It is important to note that the beach can occasionally become smoke-filled as smoke from a nearby industrial area can often get transported to the beach by winds. The park is closed between 10 pm and 5 am.
Fun Fact
As an interesting fact, this park is named after a sailor named Captain Henry Barber - Barber landed on Oahu in a ship named Arthur in 1796. After loading supplies in Honolulu, Arthur wanted to sail to China. However, his ship ran aground at a nearby spot named Kalaeloa (which is now called Barbers Point). The rocky parts in Barbers Point Beach Park are made up of limestone. Although Barbers Point Beach Park does not have lifeguards, it has a few other amenities including restrooms, picnic areas, and showers. Leashed dogs are allowed in portions of Barbers Point Beach Park that are below the high tide line.

Hawaii Prince Golf Club is a 27-hole golf facility that was designed by Ed Seay and it also offers a fun oceanfront golf experience. If you are looking for another attraction near Barbers Point Beach Park, Hawaii’s Plantation Village is 20 minutes away by car - this village is an outdoor museum that offers a unique insight into Hawaii’s history during the Plantation Era (approximately between 1820 and 1950). The village has restored buildings and replicas of plantation-related structures including a plantation store, a bathhouse, and an infirmary. The village also offers an interesting insight into the lives of migrants who came to work here from faraway lands including China, Portugal, and Japan to work here and the village also has a collection of native Hawaiian and non-native plant species.
