Overview
Located at the southern end of the city of St. Augustine, Treasure - also known as Treasure Beach - is about a two-mile-long beach with white sand. The beach has coastal vegetation and dunes, which play a crucial role in the local ecology by stabilizing the dunes. To avoid walking on these protected sand dunes, the beach has wooden paths to get to the beach.
Amenities
Treasure Beach does not have lifeguards or other amenities, so plan your trip accordingly. Dogs are allowed on the beach if they are on a leash, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.
Activities
Treasure Beach offers several fun activities - fishing, beachcombing, sunbathing, swimming, and surfing. In addition, this beach is ideal for windsurfing due to its frequently windy weather. If you are planning to swim at Treasure Beach, we recommend being careful as the water here is known to have rip currents. Depending on the time of year, visitors can also spot dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles in the water near the beach.
Parking
Getting to Treasure Beach is easy - the beach has a free parking lot at 6433 on Florida State Highway A1A South. Once you park in this lot, you must cross the street to get to the beach. We recommend being careful while crossing the road as it is an active state highway.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Treasure Beach. St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum has a museum that offers a gallery displaying maritime-related memorabilia and historical exhibitions. In addition, it has an active black-and-white-striped 164-feet tall lighthouse that was constructed in 1874 and offers Instagram-worthy and incredible coastal views. If you come at night, you can also experience the beautiful illuminations from the lighthouse. It also has other amenities, including a lightkeeper's house, a children's playground, restrooms, a cafe, and several nature trails. Fort Matanzas National Monument is an 18th-century Spanish fort that preserves a fortified Coquina(shell stone) watchtower that sits along the Matanzas River. This fort hosts interesting scientific and informative educational programs, virtual tours, and field trips that offer an insight into the local biodiversity. If you are looking for another attraction near Treasure Beach, Ripley's Believe It or Not! is a unique museum with 14 themed galleries, artifacts, incredible art, animal oddities, pop-culture memorabilia, interactive games, and stories about people and places that are hard to believe but real.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Treasure Beach. Violas is an upscale Italian restaurant that serves delicious brick-oven pizzas, pasta, ravioli, salads, bruschetta, tacos, steaks, and seafood. World Famous Oasis Restaurant serves incredible waffles, pancakes, eggs, pancakes, French toast, seafood, soup, salads, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, wraps, and desserts. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Treasure Beach, the modestly priced Taco Libre offers amazing Mexican cuisine that serves sizzling fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos, burritos, steaks, and desserts - also serves vegetarian dishes.
