Overview

Located in the city of Pompano Beach, North Ocean Park has a long and wide beach that is very popular among tourists and locals as it is a part of some of South Florida’s largest developed areas.  North Ocean Park is a well-known destination for wildlife watching and birdwatching as it is backed by many waterways.  North Ocean Park is also a perfect spot for water sports enthusiasts including surfers, snorkelers, divers, and parasailers.  The 1,000-feet-long Pompano Beach Pier is a six-minute drive from the beach and you can catch one of the Atlantic’s famous game fish here.

If you are looking for attractions near North Ocean Park, you can drive 30 minutes to Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino that has 20 table games including Spanish 21, Pan Poker, Texas Hold'em, Let It Ride, and different variations of Omaha. Spread across 1,043 acres, Oleta River State Park is known for canoeing, kayaking, and biking – the park is home to one of the largest concentrations of Australian ‘pine’ trees in Florida. If you like golfing, Hollywood Beach Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course that hosts many events and leagues. Another great attraction near North Ocean Park is Bal Harbour that has many souvenir shops, galleries, boating tours, fishing trips – and is a great spot for photography.

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants within a 10-minute drive of North Ocean Park. The upscale restaurant BALEENkitchen serves American food prepared with French techniques and has an incredible bar. View Restaurant is situated behind the very popular Sunny Isles Beach and offers beautiful views of the ocean along with calamari rings, prawn pie, chicken and cheese salad, puddings, and lamb patties.
