Located in Escambia County, Robertson Island - also popularly known as Sand Island and Admiral’s Island - is an island that has an unnamed large white sand beach area around it. This beach is also known as Robertson Island Beach. The unnamed beach in Robertson Island also has sparse vegetation and a jetty.

Getting to Robertson Island is difficult as the only way to access this beach is via boat or kayak. If you are planning to find a spot for launching your kayak or boat to Robertson Island, we recommend visiting Sherman Cove Marina - this marina is located along South Blue Angel Parkway and it is easily accessible from United States Highway 98. A parking lot is also present near this marina. Once you park here, you can use this marina’s boat launch facility for launching your boat. This marina is also conveniently close to Robertson Island.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Robertson Island. Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park is spread over 4,000 acres and is home to four varieties of endangered pitcher plants. In addition, you can also view around 100 species of rare flora and fauna in this state park including alligator snapping turtles and Chapman’s butterwort. The state park also has a boardwalk, which can be used to view a marshland named Tarkiln Bayou. The state park also offers many other fun activities including hiking, fishing, picnicking, biking, and geocaching. Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum has the historic Pensacola Lighthouse, which was built in the 19th century and is currently a part of the United States’ National Register of Historical Places. The nearby lighthouse keeper's quarters is now converted into a museum (named the Richard C. Callaway Museum) that offers interesting exhibits about local history and the Pensacola Lighthouse. As an interesting fact, the lighthouse has often been labelled as one of the most haunted lighthouses of the United States and ghost tours are frequently conducted on the lighthouse premises. If you are looking for another attraction near Robertson Island, Big Lagoon State Park has a wide variety of habitats including pine flatwood forests and saltwater marshlands that visitors can explore via hiking and biking trails. In addition, the park also has an observation tower which offers amazing views of the northern Floridian shoreline. The state park is also a fantastic bird watching spot and it is also a part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail - you can view many kinds of birds here especially during the spring and fall bird migration seasons. Big Lagoon State Park also has campsites for RVs and tents. The state park also has interesting archaeological sites dating back to the Pre-Columbian era. Big Lagoon State Park is also a fantastic spot for star-gazing and star-gazing programs are also organized frequently in this park. This state park is also a launching spot for the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail, which extends all the way around the Floridian shoreline.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Robertson Island. Restaurant Iron is 21 minutes away by car and it has an elegant ambiance. This restaurant serves fantastic gourmet dishes prepared from locally-sourced ingredients. This restaurant has also won many awards including Florida Trend magazine's Golden Spoon award and OpenTable's Diners' Choice award. Joe Patti’s Seafood is a wholesale seafood store that has a sushi bar and cafe - this cafe is known for serving excellent sushi, sashimi, and tempura. In addition, the store also has a deli which serves a variety of amazing snacks. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Robertson Island, CJ’s Kitchen is 20 minutes away by car and serves amazing salads, sandwiches, seafood, eggs, breakfast dishes, burgers, and roast meat.
