Miramar Beach has lifeguards between March 1st and October 31.  In addition to lifeguards, the beach and the area near it has many amenities including restrooms, showers, volleyball courts, a boardwalk, rental facilities for beach chairs and umbrellas, and bike storage rocks.  Dogs on leash are only allowed in Miramar Beach if their owners are full time local residents or property owners.

Miramar Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, swimming, paddleboarding, surfing, kitesurfing, boogie boarding, volleyball, jet-skiing, parasailing, bodysurfing, windsurfing, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, water-skiing, kayaking, canoeing, surf-skiing, and wildlife watching.

Getting to Miramar Beach is easy – the main entrance for this beach is located near 2375 Scenic Gulf Drive.  There is a large free parking lot near this entrance – there are also multiple free street parking spaces nearby along Scenic Gulf Drive.  In addition to the main entrance, there are multiple other entrances for this beach along Scenic Gulf Drive – some of these entrances are located near 1328 Scenic Gulf Drive, 1294 Scenic Gulf Drive, and 1196 Scenic Gulf Drive.  This beach is easily accessible from United States Highway 98 and Florida State Road 30.

The sand at Miramar Beach is made of quartz and this sand was formed 20,000 years ago in the Appalachian Mountains – this quartz sediment was weathered down and eventually carried to the shoreline by rivers.  In addition, this beach also hosts many fun events including live music performances and concerts.

There are many attractions near Miramar Beach within a 25-minute-drive.  The Destin Harbor Boardwalk is a popular boardwalk that offers many fun things to explore including shops, restaurants, amusement rides, and bars.  This boardwalk also offers many fun activities including zip lining, parasailing, and mini-golf and it also offers rental facilities for watersports equipment, and sitting areas.  Gator Beach – The World's Greatest Alligator Park is an alligator park where visitors can see and feed hundreds of live American alligators – this park also hosts fun shows about these amazing creatures.  In addition, the park also has a Discovery Zone that has interpretive exhibits about alligators and their habitat.  If you like go-karting, The Track – Destin offers fun go-kart tracks and it also offers many other fun rides including bumper cars, spinning coasters, and blaster boats – this go-karting facility also has mini-golf courses and an arcade.  Destin History and Fishing Museum offers informative exhibitions about Destin’s unique and vibrant history – in addition, the museum also has a wide variety of fishing-related exhibits including author Ernest Hemingway’s fishing rod and many antique fishing equipment.  If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, Henderson Beach State Park is an oceanfront state park that has a beach named Henderson Beach State Park Beach and it offers many fun activities including swimming, biking, fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, picnicking, and camping.
