Overview

Located in the city of Fernandina Beach, Fort Clinch State Park is a white sand beach. The park also features Fort Clinch that is was built in the 19th century and has various informative military exhibits.

There are many attractions near Amelia Island State Park. Tabby House is a historic site that was designed by Robert Sands Schuyler and constructed in 1885. This house was added to the US National Historic Register in 1975 and is a stunning example of Victorian architecture. Marine Welcome Center & Shrimping Museum showcases the history of shrimping in Fernandina Beach. It preserves the history of Amelia Island through artifacts, photos, and videos. Amelia Island Lighthouse dates back to the 18th century and is the oldest lighthouse in Florida. The lighthouse is exclusively open to the public for three hours on Saturdays and twice a month, the city conducts tours of the lighthouse. Amelia Island Museum of History is a local museum that focuses on preserving the local regional history and is housed inside the old Nassau County jail. The artifacts include thousands of historical documents, artifacts, and books focusing on local and natural history.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Fort Clinch State Park. Salt is an upscale fine dining restaurant that serves snapper ceviche, lamb loin, beef tenderloin, and cobia. Verandah Restaurant is a seafood restaurant with a rustic décor that serves warm wainwright parmesan, Florida snapper, half chicken, and Florida snapper. Cafe Karibo serves appetizing crabby con queso, tuna sashimi, chili prawns, and honey-glazed salmon. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Fort Clinch State Park, Brett's Waterway Cafe is a waterfront cafe that serves delicious pulled pork sandwiches, crab dip gratin, napa cabbage slaw, and shrimp pot pie.
