Located near the northern end of Sanibel Island, Captiva Beach - also known as Alison Hagerup Beach Park and Alison Hagerup Beach - is a scenic white-sand west-facing beach with nearby trees. This beach is situated in the community of Captiva. As an interesting fact, the beach gets its alternative name from Alison Hagerup, who was a local public servant who was renowned for her efforts in preservation and rejuvenation of local beaches. Captiva Beach has been rated by the travel website Travelocity as "The Most Romantic Beach in Florida."
