Overview

Located in the city of Boynton Beach, Ocean Inlet Park is an 11.39-acre recreational park that has an unnamed white-sand beach with multiple rocky breakwaters. This beach is also known as Ocean Inlet Park Beach. Ocean Inlet Park is situated just south of an inlet named South Lake Worth Inlet. The beach in Ocean Inlet Park has a wooden jetty on its northern end. Coastal vegetation is also present near this beach. 

Amenities

Ocean Inlet Park has many amenities including lifeguards, canoeing/kayaking launch areas, a marina, an observation area, picnic areas, a playground, restrooms, sitting pavilions, and showers. A watersport equipment rental facility is also present near the beach. 

Activities

Ocean Inlet Park offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, fishing, picnicking, snorkeling, swimming, paddle boarding, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, surf-skiing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, parasailing, and bodyboarding. Jet-skiers and boaters often use Ocean Inlet Park as a launching point for exploring the surrounding Palm Beach County shoreline and the nearby Intracoastal Waterway. However, if you are planning to enter the water near Ocean Inlet Park, we recommend being careful as the water here is known to have rip currents. It is also important to note that some portions of the water near Ocean Inlet Park are reserved only for swimmers - surfing and fishing are prohibited in these portions. Depending on the time of the year, you can view many kinds of animals in the water near Ocean Inlet Park including dolphins, sea turtles, and a wide variety of fish. If you like birdwatching, you can view many kinds of birds around Ocean Inlet Park including gulls and pelicans. The wooden jetty present in the northern part of the beach is an amazing fishing spot - you can catch many kinds of fish in the water around this jetty including bluefish and grunts. In addition, the jetty is also open during the night, making it an ideal spot for a quiet fishing session under the clear night sky. However, if you are planning to fish in the water near Ocean Inlet Park, please make sure that you follow the local fishing regulations. The jetty in Ocean Inlet Park also offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, you can also occasionally view glowing bioluminescent organisms in the water around this jetty at night.

There are many attractions near Ocean Inlet Park. Sandoway Discovery Center has interesting exhibitions that offer an interesting insight into the vibrant marine and freshwater habitats of South Florida. The center is set in a 1936 house - this house is a part of the United States National Register of Historic Places. The center also offers interesting educational programs including animal feeding programs, beach clean-up sessions, and a shark-themed festival. Veterans Park is a recreational park that has many amenities including barbecue spots, benches, drinking fountains, a gazebo, a lean bowling court, restrooms, and a shuffleboard court. If you are looking for another attraction near Ocean Inlet Park, Seacrest Scrub Natural Area is spread over 54 acres. This natural area has a vibrant landscape that you can explore via hiking trails. You can view many kinds of animals and birds in this area including raccoons, warblers, gray foxes, and many kinds of lizards and arachnids.
