Klondike Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, hiking, fishing, picnicking, swimming, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, horse riding, skimboarding, boogie boarding, jet-skiing, water-skiing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, surf-skiing, and wildlife watching.
The water here occasionally offers fun surfing waves, making it ideal for surfers. However, if you are planning to surf or swim here, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents. Jellyfish are also occasionally found here and they can inflict powerful stings.
This beach also offers a fun oceanfront horse riding experience. However, if you are planning to ride your horse here, please note that you need a permit for doing so – you can visit Canaveral National Seashore’s web page on the National Park Service’s website for more information regarding the permit rules. If you like fishing, you can catch many kinds of fish in the water here including whiting, bluefish, and pompano.
This beach is ideal for visitors looking for a quiet beach experience because it sees fewer visitors as compared to other nearby beaches. In addition, Canaveral National Seashore – within which Klondike Beach is located – has many other fun things to explore including nature trails, historic sites, a large lagoon, a campground, and a Cape Canaveral National Seashore visitor center with interesting exhibitions.
