Shaver Lake Camp Chawanakee is nestled in the picturesque Sierra National Forest, offering a serene and adventurous experience. The camp has grown significantly since its founding in 1946, now accommodating over 500 Scouts and adults across 23 campsites during its summer sessions. It features a range of facilities, including the new Lyles Lodge Dining Hall and plans for a training center and first-aid facility.
The camp offers a variety of programs for Scouts, including the Trail to First Class and opportunities to earn over 40 merit badges. Activities such as sailing, rifle shooting, and the C.O.P.E. Course are also available. The surrounding Sierra National Forest offers additional recreational opportunities like hiking and horseback riding.
