Overview

Located in the city of Oxnard, Channel View Park Beach is a half-mile long and wide beach that is a part of a park named Channel View Park. Channel View Park Beach is situated on the north and south side of the entrance to Channel Islands Harbor and Hollywood Beach respectively. Channel View Park Beach is a great and very safe swimming spot as there is a breakwater in front of the harbor entrance that protects it from the big ocean waves. Channel View Park Beach welcomes dogs on-leash before 9 am and after 5 pm.

Channel View Park Beach offers many amenities including picnic tables, benches, volleyball courts, and dunes – these dunes act as a natural habitat for the western snowy plover and nesting site for least tern birds.

If you are looking for nearby attractions, there are many options within a 25-minute drive of Channel View Park Beach. Point Dume is a beautiful and large promontory that projects into the Pacific Ocean and forms the northern end of Santa Monica Bay. Point Dume offers an incredible view and is a fantastic place for Instagram-worthy pictures – it is a perfect spot for hiking, especially for beginners because of its natural climbing wall with moderate single-pitch rock climbing routes. Spread across 1,000 acres on the Saddleback Ranch, Malibu Wine Safaris features wine tastings, a visit to the ancient Chumash cave paintings, and safari trips to see zebras, camels, alpacas, bison, and a giraffe named Stanley. Heal the Bay Aquarium, also known as the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, is a short drive down Pacific Coast Highway and offers educational programs, and events to spread awareness for marine conservation, pollution prevention, and environmental education to over 100,000 visitors every year. Another great attraction near Channel View Park Beach is Paramount Ranch, a national park with several hiking trails through chaparral, riparian, and valley oak savannah plant communities, multi-use trails for mountain bikers, and wildlife sightings that include red-tailed hawks, acorn woodpeckers, blue heron, and deer. Paramount Ranch has been featured as an old western town in many famed Hollywood movies and television series, most notably Caught in the Draft, The Lake House, and Westworld.

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants within a 15-minute drive of Channel View Park Beach. The upscale restaurant Geoffrey’s has a great view of the Pacific Ocean and was mentioned in "The 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in the US" by Business Insider. If you love Italian food, Spruzzo Restaurant & Bar offers pizza, pasta, sandwiches, cocktails, drinks, and desserts. Another awesome restaurant near Channel View Park Beach is Neptune’s Net, a biker-bar-cum-restaurant that has been featured in films, television series, and games, including Iron Man 3, The Fast and the Furious, Gossip Girl, and GTA 5.
