Overview
Located to the north of Morro Bay, North Point Beach is a large beach with light brown sand and multiple rock formations. The beach is situated below oceanfront bluffs and is a part of a one-acre park named Northpoint Natural Area. North Point Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities. However, the blufftop area above the beach has benches. Dogs on leash are allowed on North Point Beach.

While there are no lifeguards on duty, the beach provides visitors with bathroom facilities, as well as picnic tables and grills for those looking to enjoy a beachside BBQ. Dogs are allowed on the beach, but they must be kept on a leash.

North Point Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, and tide-pooling. Tidepooling is a popular activity in North Point Beach - during low tide, you can explore the amazing tidepools present in North Point Beach. These tidepools are home to many wonderful creatures including anemones, sea urchins, barnacles, sea slugs, and sea stars. However, if you are planning to explore the tidepools around North Point Beach, we recommend being careful as the rocks around the tidepools are often wet and slippery. Depending on the time of year, you can see many kinds of animals in the water near this beach including seals, sea lions, and migrating whales. The blufftop area above Toro Creek Beach offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Pacific Ocean, the distant Morro Rock, and the San Luis Obispo County shoreline.
Parking
Getting to North Point Beach is easy - the access stairs to the beach are located near 3480 Toro Lane, which is easily accessible from Pacific Coast Highway/Cabrillo Highway and where a free parking lot is also available. As another access option, there are multiple access trails and walkways along a nearby road called Studio Drive which offer access to another beach named Toro Creek Beach. From Toro Creek Beach you can walk south along the shoreline to North Point Beach.

Additionally, the beach offers stunning views of Morro Rock, a volcanic plug that rises 576 feet above sea level and is one of the area's most prominent landmarks.

There are many attractions near North Point Beach. Morro Rock is a giant volcanic plug that is a unique geological marvel. The volcanic plug, whose name means "nose" in Spanish, is also a great bird-watching spot - this rock is a nesting place for many bird species including cormorants, gulls, and the locally endangered peregrine falcon. Morro Bay Golf Course offers a fun and challenging session of golf. In addition, this golf course also offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Pacific Ocean. If you are looking for another attraction near North Point Beach, The Morro Bay State Park Museum of Natural History offers interesting exhibits on the local biodiversity, geology, and cultural history.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near North Point Beach. The Galley is an upscale restaurant that offers amazing seafood made from locally sourced ingredients. House of JuJu offers excellent burgers, wraps, hot dogs, and salads. In addition, the restaurant has also been proposed by the San Luis Obispo newspaper The Tribune. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near North Point Beach, the modestly priced Tacos De Mexico offers excellent Mexican dishes including tacos and tortas.
