Overview
Located along the Mendocino County shoreline, Mallo Pass Creek Beach is a long and remote beach with light brown sand. This west-facing beach is situated in a rocky cove below steep oceanfront bluffs. There is a pyramid-shaped rock formation near the northern part of the beach. The beach's central portion is wider than its northern and southern parts. In addition, the Mallo Pass Creek flows through this beach into the Pacific Ocean. Mallo Pass Creek Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities, so plan your trip accordingly. Getting to Mallo Pass Creek Beach is easy - the gated access road to the beach is located along Shoreline Highway / Pacific Coast Highway, and there is also a free parking lot near this access road. From the parking lot, you need to walk along the access road, which goes around a hill and dips down along the hillsides before crossing a small gulch. Once you cross the small gulch, there will be a double-track trail that leads down along the bluff sides to Mallo Pass Creek Beach. We recommend visiting this beach wearing appropriate footwear as this beach is known to have lots of driftwood. In addition, we recommend being careful while walking along the double-track trail to Mallo Pass Creek Beach and not mistakenly trespassing into a privately owned farm that is situated adjacent to this trail.
