Located less than two miles east of Point Dume, Paradise Cove Beach is one of the most beloved seaside spots in Malibu. With its beautiful views, peaceful cove, and charming pier, the beach has been the setting for many famed Hollywood movies, most notably "Baywatch," "American Pie 2," "Gidget," "X-Men," and "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie." The beach also boasts its very own restaurant, lifeguards, beach chairs, restrooms, showers, and tide pools.
Activities
The mild waves at Paradise Cove Beach are great for families to safely swim and boogie board together. These calm conditions also allow beginner surfers to learn without the stress of challenging waves. If you are feeling even more adventurous, there are tide pools and secret caves along the shore teeming with amazing marine life to explore. Beyond the beach, Paradise Cove’s pier is a fantastic place to fish and whale watch. We highly recommend bringing a pair of binoculars, so you have the best possible view of these amazing creatures.
Parking
To access the beach, drive to 28128 Pacific Coast Highway where you will find its entrance clearly marked. We recommend parking along Pacific Coast Highway and taking a five-minute walk down a long hill to get to the beach. If you drive, the parking is very expensive - $35 for cars and $50 for RV’s; if you spend $30 at the restaurant, they will validate you.

If you get hungry, you can walk just a few feet to the beachside Paradise Cove Beach Cafe, which is known for being Malibu’s only restaurant actually on the sand and serving its award-winning clam chowder, inventive cocktails, and overall, generous portions. If you are looking for a family-friendly restaurant, you can drive four minutes to Gravina Malibu, an authentic Italian restaurant regarded for its colorful pasta plates, pizza, and more, which are all served in its warm, intimate atmosphere. Not far from Gravina Malibu, you can also drive to Geoffrey’s Malibu, a local favorite known for its delicious herb-crusted salmon, spicy fried oysters, and ahi tuna tartar. It is also renowned for its oceanfront location and breathtaking scenery, as it is one of the 100 most scenic restaurants in the United States according to "Business Insider."
