Located in the city of Lompoc, Jalama Beach is a one-mile-long, wide, and rocky beach that is a part of a park named Jalama Beach County Park.  Jalama Beach is situated near Halama, a historic Chumash Indian settlement at the point where Jalama Creek meets the North Pacific Ocean. The northern and southern ends of Jalama Beach are situated in front of Vandenberg Air Force Base and Cojo-Jalama Ranch respectively.  Jalama Beach is a great place for birdwatching and has a campground with tents, RVs, seven reserved cabins, a camp store, and a restaurant called Jalama Beach Grill.  Jalama Beach is a dog-friendly beach, but you will have to pay an extra fee for dogs.

Jalama Beach offers many amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, picnic tables, fire pits, and a paid campground.

There are many fun activities at Jalama Beach including surfing, camping, fishing, birdwatching, windsurfing, kiteboarding, rockhounding, and whale watching.

Getting to Jalama Beach is easy – the beach’s paid parking is situated near 9999 Jalama Road and is within walking distance to the beach.

If you are looking for nearby attractions, there are many within a 50-minute drive of Jalama Beach. The beachside Mustang Waterpark has an incredible stampede ride, two 600-foot-long waterslides, kiddie pools, three mini-slides, and bikes and karts. Monarch Butterfly Grove is a nature preserve center and home to thousands of monarch butterflies that visitors can see starting from late October to February. If you like photography, Swinging Bridge is a beautiful 171-feet-long bridge suspended 40-feet over Arroyo Grande Creek and is a great spot to take Instagram-worthy pictures. Another great attraction near Jalama Beach is Price Historical Park, a four-acre landmark that incorporates history from the Chumash tribe.

If you get hungry, you can drive 25 minutes to many restaurants near Jalama Beach. The vegetarian-friendly restaurant Mason Bar & Kitchen was mentioned in "Highway 101: The Best Roadside Eats" by The Mercury News. If you like Mediterranean food, Jaffa Café serves shawarmas, kebabs, wraps, and gyros. Another good restaurant near Jalama Beach is Village Café, a breakfast restaurant featuring pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, tacos, burgers, and homemade pies.
