Gaviota State Park is a beautiful beach located in Goleta, United States. The beach stretches for 2 miles and has golden sand.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Gaviota State Park Beach.  Toscana Italian Restaurant serves incredible pizzas, pasta, lasagna, bruschetta, ravioli, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Mother Hubbard's Restaurant serves delicious meat, seafood, and poultry dishes.  The Bistro is an upscale restaurant that serves incredible seafood, poultry, and meat dishes.  China Panda Restaurant serves amazing curries, fried rice, noodles, soups,  meat, seafood, and poultry dishes.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant nearby, Kyle's Kitchen serves delicious burgers, sandwiches, salads, meat, seafood, poultry, and vegetarian dishes.

If you are looking for hotels near Gaviota State Park Beach, there are many great options nearby.  If you are looking for an upscale hotel, the 5-Star The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara offers many amenities, including three outdoor saltwater pools, cabanas, tennis courts, hot tubs, spa, and many restaurants.  A more affordable hotel is the 4-Star Chumash Casino Resort, which offers many amenities, including a spa, an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness center, a cafe, a casino, and an upscale restaurant.  Another moderately priced option is the 4-Star The Ballard Inn, A Kirkwood Collection Hotel, which has several amenities, including comfortable rooms and an upscale restaurant.  A more reasonably priced option is the 3-Star El Capitan Canyon, which has a few amenities, including an outdoor pool, a playground, and complimentary breakfast.  If you are looking for another affordable hotel, Santa Ynez Valley Marriott has an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness center, and squash courts.

Gaviota State Park Beach has several amenities, including seasonal lifeguards, a fishing pier, picnic areas, restrooms, hiking trails, and a nearby campground, so plan your trip accordingly.

Gaviota State Park Beach offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, surfing, camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, picnicking, and photography.   If you plan to go into the water, swimming is allowed, but we recommend being careful, as water is known to have unpredictable rip currents. Hikers can explore the nearby popular Gaviota Peak Trail, which offers unique insights into the local biodiversity. Anglers can catch a wide variety of fish from the beach or the nearby Gaviota Pier, with catches including surfperch and halibut. It is also a popular spot for surfing due to its frequent windy weather, especially for intermediate and advanced surfers. Snorkelers and divers may spot the diverse marine life that thrives in its clear waters.  If you want to enjoy camping, you may book a nearby campsite that offers an amazing camping experience near the beach.  If you enjoy tidepooling, this beach is home to various marine life, where you may spot crabs, sea anemones, and other small creatures in the tide pools.  Depending on the time of year, visitors may spot seagulls, pelicans, sea lions, dolphins, and gray whales in the water near the beach. This beach is a perfect blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and recreational opportunities, making it an ideal destination for photographers to capture amazing photos on the Gaviota Coast. Dogs are not allowed here, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Gaviota State Park Beach does not offer an access path for people with disabilities.

Getting to Gaviota State Park Beach is easy - the beach has several parking spots near 17620 Gaviota Beach Road, State Highway 101 near Gaviota Tunnel, California 93117, United States, which provide easy access to the beach.

The beach's name, “Gaviota,” means “seagull” in Spanish, given by Spanish explorers in the 18th century. Also, this beautiful beach is featured in the famous 2004 movie "Sideways," which was nominated for Best Picture.

There are many attractions near Gaviota State Park Beach.  Nojoqui Falls Park is a dog-friendly park spread over 85 acres and has a large playground and a picnic area with picnic tables, barbecue grill facilities, and open grassy spaces. This park also has an 80-foot-long seasonal waterfall that cascades down a moss-covered cliff, offering a breathtaking view.  The waterfall is easily accessible via a short and easy walking trail that leads visitors through a shaded oak and sycamore forest to the falls to capture its beauty.   Gaviota State Park is a stunning coastal park spread over 3,000 acres, known for its rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, caves, hot springs, and scenic hiking trails.  It offers numerous fun activities, including hiking, camping, fishing, picnicking, snorkeling, diving, swimming, surfing, geocaching, and wildlife viewing.  The Gaviota Wind Caves are unique sandstone caves that have been sculpted by wind and erosion over thousands of years, creating fascinating rock formations.  This cave can be accessed via a one-mile-long, moderately challenging hiking trail that offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding hills.   Gaviota Hot Springs is a natural warm spring with sulfur-rich waters surrounded by lush greenery, oak trees, and rolling hills nestled in a scenic canyon, making it a relaxing and scenic destination.  Visitors have to hike on a short but steep dirt path that leads to the geothermal pools.   If you are looking for another nearby attraction, Sanford Winery is one of the first vineyards planted in the Santa Barbara region set against the Santa Ynez Mountains, best known for their award-winning wines, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah, crafted from estate-grown grapes.  It also has a Spanish-style adobe tasting room where visitors can enjoy a selection of Sanford’s estate wines and learn about their sustainable farming and winemaking process.
