The beach is situated below a blufftop RV park and a blufftop golf course named Pelican Point RV Park and the Half Moon Bay Golf Links, respectively. Behind the beach lies a gulch, and the Cañada Verde Creek flows through it, eventually meeting the Pacific Ocean. Lemos Farm is a ranch-themed amusement park with exciting attractions for children, including toy train rides, a petting zoo, toy car rides, and pony rides. The James Johnston House, a local historical landmark built in the 19th century by prominent local businessman James Johnston, is part of the United States' National Register of Historic Places. It is open to visitors on the third Saturday of each month between 11 am and 3 pm, except between October and December.
For golf enthusiasts, Half Moon Bay Golf Links, located on the bluff above Pelican Point Beach, offers two challenging 18-hole golf courses, bocce ball courts, and a restaurant. Another nearby attraction is Quarry Park, a 517-acre county park featuring amenities like barbecue spots, 10 picnic tables, a restroom, a children's playground, and a hiking trail that meanders through a eucalyptus hillside, offering Instagram-worthy views of the Pacific Ocean. The park also has a community garden currently under development.
