Located near the mouth of the Eel River, Crab County Park is a small Humboldt County Park that offers access to a riverfront beach named Crab Park Beach. Crab County Park Beach is a small beach with brown sand and sparse vegetation. This beach is protected from the ocean waves by a sandy spit that is part of the nearby Eel River Wildlife Area. Crab County Park Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities, so plan your trip accordingly. Dogs are allowed on the beach off-leash. Getting to Crab County Park is easy - take the Loleta Drive exit from United States Highway 101 and follow Loleta Drive towards the west. From Loleta Drive, turn right towards Eel River Drive, and then turn left on Cannibal Island Road. Crab Park is located at the end of Cannibal Island Road where there is also a nearby free parking lot. From this parking lot, you can easily walk to the beach via a hiking trail. Since the parking spaces fill up early, we recommend visiting this beach early.
