Located in the city of San Luis Obispo, Montana de Oro State Park - Sandspit Beach is a two-mile-long, two-mile-wide, and the northernmost beach of Montana de Oro State Park. Spread across 8,000 acres, Montana de Oro State Park features a seven-mile shoreline, beaches, dunes, canyons, and hills, one of which is the 1,347-feet-long Valencia Peak. Montana de Oro State Park - Sandspit Beach is situated south of the city of Morro Bay and north of a protected habitat known as Morro Dunes Natural Preserve – an awesome RV camping spot. Although Montana de Oro State Park - Sandspit Beach does not have lifeguards, it offers many amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, trails, and dunes.
