Getting to Es Portitxol is difficult - visitors have to drive towards Sant Miquel and get off at the road to Sant Mateu until you reach the residential area “Isla Blanca.”  There are a few free street parking spots located at Carrer Sn 81, and from a bend in this track, a path goes off to Es Portitxol, with a long, steep descent to the sea.  Visitors have to hike northeast for around 40 minutes on this dirt path to access the beach.

Es Portitxol means "the tiny port'' in Catalan, referring to something that is small coves or natural inlets located along the coast.  This hidden cove offers incredible views of the vast ocean, especially during sunsets.
