Xarraca Colum

Located near the village of Sant Joan de Labritja on the northern coast of Ibiza, Xarraca Colum - also known as Platja de Cala Xarraca and Cala Xarraca - is a 90-meter-long and 15-meter-wide small cove with white sand and many rocky portions.  The cove has an amazing background of rugged cliffs and many oceanfront buildings, including a restaurant and many homes.  In addition, there are many small islets located just off the coast, namely Illot des Remoli and Illa de sa Mesquita, that provide Instagram-worthy views, especially during the sunset.

Xarraca Colum does not have lifeguards but offers many other amenities, including a restaurant, a sunbed and parasol rental facility, and a nearby bus stop.

Xarraca Colum offers many fun activities, including sunbathing, beachcombing, swimming, snorkeling, mud bathing, and diving.  If you are planning to go into the water, the beach has shallow water, making it a safe swimming area, and the waves are usually calm.  If you enjoy snorkeling, this beach has sandy seabeds, making it a perfect spot to explore the marine world. The beach has a unique natural mud bath that is known to have healing properties and is located on the left side of the beach, where visitors can take a refreshing dip.  Hikers can explore the nearby rocky pathways that offer unique insights into the local biodiversity.  Xarraca Colum is an ideal spot for visitors looking for a tranquil beach experience, as this beach sees fewer visitors than other nearby beaches.  Dogs are not allowed here, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Xarraca Colum does not offer an access path for people with disabilities.

Getting to Xarraca Colum is easy - it has a small parking lot located at Diseminado Niu des Corps, 22, which is easily accessible via EI-300 and provides easy access to the beach.  It is important to note that the beach is just on the road to Portinatx.

Xarraca Colum can also be reached by a public bus (line L20A), which stops near the beach.

Xarraca Colum is surrounded by a pine forest that offers majestic views that attract many photographers to the beach.

There are many attractions near Xarraca Colum. Cova de Can Marca is a natural cave formed millions of years ago by the action of water on limestone rock with a series of chambers, stalactites, and stalagmites.  Visitors can also enjoy a waterfall light show and interesting guided tours to explore these geological wonders. Punta Moscarter Lighthouse is positioned on the northernmost point of Ibiza, on rugged cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.  This white and black-striped 52-meter-high cylindrical-shaped lighthouse guides the ships safely past the northern coast of the island of Ibiza. Museo Etnográfico de Ibiza is a small museum that focuses on preserving and showcasing the ethnographic history, art, and culture of the region through interesting exhibits, artifacts, photographs, and related memorabilia.  In addition, it hosts many interesting educational programs throughout the year that attract visitors of all age groups. Sender des Far des Moscarter is a two-mile-long moderately challenging hiking trail that passes through pine trees and rugged cliffs that lead to the Far des Moscarter along the northern coastline of the island and offers incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea.  If you are looking for another attraction near Xarraca Colum, Slingshot Ibiza is a family-friendly amusement park that features many thrill rides, including the Slingshot, the Sky Fall, the Air Strike, and many other thrill rides.
