Located in the village resort of Sesmarias, in the city of Albufeira, Praia dos Arrifes - also known as Praia dos Tres Penecos - is a 75-meter-long beige sand beach with many rocky formations that is recognized as one of the smallest beaches in the Albufeira region. This sheltered beach features three large, solitary rock formations, with the central one, in the group of three, having an arch and two small rocks that dominate the line of the horizon from the shore, which adds allure to its beauty and makes it a picturesque spot. It is positioned just east of the famous Praia de Sao Rafael and has a beautiful background of low cliffs, coastal vegetation, and an upscale restaurant, which together provide Instagram-worthy views of the vast North Atlantic Ocean. The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag certification due to its cleanliness and water quality standards. It is important to note that the rugged cliffs at Praia dos Arrifes Albufeira are subject to erosion, so we recommend being careful while below, as there is a possibility of falling rocks and stones.
