Best Family Friendly Beaches in Oceanside

Located in the city of Oceanside, St. Malo Beach is a small, wide, and rocky beach situated in front of the private gated community called St. Malo Beach that has incredible homes with ancient French-styled architecture. St. Malo Beach’s gated entrance is situated at the intersection between Eaton Street and South Pacific Street – and is not accessible to the public. To access St. Malo Beach, you will need to walk 10 minutes south of South Oceanside Beach during low tides.

Located in the city of Oceanside, Breakwater Way Beach is a small and wide beach that is surrounded by palm trees.  Breakwater Way Beach is situated on the north and south side of the Oceanside Pier and the San Luis Rey River respectively.

Located in the city of Oceanside, Tyson Street Beach is a long and wide beach that is a part of a state park named Tyson Street Park.  Tyson Street Beach is situated on the south side of the quarter-mile-long Oceanside Municipal Fishing Pier – and is surrounded by palm trees on both sides and a bluff on the back.

Located in the city of Oceanside, Oceanside Boulevard Beach is a half-mile long, wide, and rocky beach that is surrounded by private homes and condos. Oceanside Boulevard Beach is well-known for surfing and bodyboarding – and is situated on the north side of Buccaneer Beach Park, an incredible birdwatching destination.

Located in the city of Oceanside, Oceanside Pier View North Beach is a long and wide beach that is surrounded by palm trees.  Oceanside Pier View North Beach is situated on the north side of the Oceanside Municipal Fishing Pier and is a great fishing spot.  

Located to the south of Oceanside Pier, Oceanside Pier View South Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the city of Oceanside. The beach is large and has light brown sand, and offers many amenities including lifeguards, picnic areas, barbecues, showers, restrooms, and vending machines. Oceanside Pier View South Beach is easily accessible - it’s located near 200 The Strand North. There is a paid parking lot for the beach located near the intersection of South Pacific Street and Seagaze Drive, and another paid parking lot located north of the Oceanside Pier adjacent to the beach. However, we recommend visiting early as these spots often fill up quickly.
