Located at the southern end of the city of Port Aransas, Tony Amos City Beach is a long, wide, and famous beige sand beach.  The beach is positioned on Mustang Island along the Texas coastline and has a beautiful backdrop of many oceanfront buildings, including houses, shops, restaurants, and nearby condominiums, which together provide Instagram-worthy views of the Gulf of Mexico. 

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants within a two-minute drive of Tony Amos City Beach.   Venetian Hot Plate is an upscale Italian restaurant that serves amazing seafood, pork, meat, and poultry dishes. Moby Dick's serves amazing soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, seafood, and poultry dishes.  Irie's Island Food serves delicious tempura, wraps, beef, seafood, poultry dishes, and desserts.  In addition, it also offers pre-designed menus. Stingrays Taphouse and Grill serves pizzas, salsa, nachos, burgers, tacos, salads, sandwiches, seafood, pork, meat, and poultry dishes.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Tony Amos City Beach, La Playa Mexican Grille serves incredible nachos, quesadillas, salads, soups, enchiladas, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.

If you are looking for a hotel near Tony Amos City Beach, there are many great options nearby.  If you are looking for an upscale beachfront hotel, the 4-Star Omni Corpus Christi Hotel is 39 minutes away by car and offers many amenities including an outdoor pool, hot tubs, a fitness center, and a restaurant.  A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star Sea Breeze Suites, which offer many amenities including an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a tanning deck, a picnic area, a poolside barbecue facility, and a gazebo.  Another moderately priced option is the 3-Star The Tarpon Inn, which offers many amenities including an outdoor pool, an outdoor seating area, and a restaurant.  A more reasonably priced option is the beachfront 3-Star Sea & Sand Cottages, which offers several amenities including an outdoor pool and a garden.  If you are looking for another good and affordable hotel near Tony Amos City Beach, the 3-Star Mustang Towers offer a few amenities including an outdoor pool and hot tubs.

Tony Amos City Beach has many amenities including lifeguards, portable toilets, picnic areas, rental beach chairs and umbrella facilities, trash cans, and nearby food stalls.

Tony Amos City Beach offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, bird watching, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, surfing, parasailing, beachcombing, kite flying, building castles, picnicking, fishing, and driving.  If you are planning to go into the water, the waves are usually calm, but we recommend being careful, as the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents.  It is also an ideal spot for windsurfing due to its frequently windy weather.  If you enjoy fishing, you may catch redfish, red snapper, kingfish, flounder, cobia, black drum, seatrout, and marlin.  Depending on the time of year, visitors may spot whales, manatees, and dolphins.  Visitors may also spot many shorebirds and migratory birds.  Dogs are welcome on the beach if they are on a leash, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Tony Amos City Beach offers an access path for people with disabilities.

Getting to Tony Amos City Beach is easy - the beach is located at Access Road 1 of Port Aransas Beach Road and provides easy access to the beach.  It is important to note that visitors can conveniently park their vehicles directly on the beach.

The beach has the name of a well-known naturalist and researcher, Tony Amos, who spent decades studying this area of the beach and rescuing injured marine creatures for the region. In addition, Tony Amos City Beach is a perfect spot for enjoying the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico.

There are many attractions near Tony Amos City Beach.  Wetland Park is a small park overlooking tidal flats and marsh habitats that is home to many shorebirds.  It is an ideal spot for watching birds and offers many amenities, including a boardwalk, a gazebo, and a path for people with disabilities.  Red Dragon Pirate Cruises is a pirate-themed boat that sails in the waters of the Lydia Ann Channel in Port Aransas, which provides amazing cruising experiences. It offers many fun activities, including interactive pirate shows, treasure hunts, cannon fire, dolphin viewing, sword fighting, live entertainment, and themed food.

Roberts Point Park is a dog-friendly waterfront park spread over 50 acres and offers many amenities, including a pavilion, an observation tower, a playground with swing sets, benches, picnic areas, picnic tables, and restrooms.  The park attracts a large influx of visitors and hosts many interesting activities and events throughout the year. Texas Sealife Center is home to many rescued birds and marine life, including sharks, seals, sea lions, and sea turtles.  It offers a unique insight into the coastal and aquatic wildlife of the region through guided tours and educational programs that focus on educating visitors on how to protect them. If you are looking for another attraction near Tony Amos City Beach, thePort Aransas Museum is a very small museum that has a gallery that displays interesting exhibits, artifacts, photographs, and related memorabilia that provides interesting insight into the maritime history and heritage of the Port Aransas region.
