Overview
Located on the southern end of Mustang Island within Nueces County on the Gulf Coast of Texas, Port Aransas Beach is a six-mile-long and wide beige sand beach. The beach is positioned on a natural barrier island along the Texas coastline. Port Aransas Beach has a beautiful backdrop of many oceanfront buildings, including houses, shops, restaurants, and nearby condominiums, which together provide Instagram-worthy views of the Gulf of Mexico, the Lydia Ann Ship Channel, and the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. The beach has a long jetty built with many large boulders and rocks to form a protective barrier for Port Aransas against strong waves and tidal currents to control erosion.

If you are planning to go into the water, it is protected by breakwaters, making it a safe swimming area. However, we recommend being careful, as water is known to have unpredictable rip currents. It is a perfect spot for windsurfing due to its frequently windy weather. If you enjoy fishing, you may catch redfish, red snapper, kingfish, flounder, cobia, black drum, seatrout, and marlin. In addition, visitors can also book dolphin cruises, deep-sea fishing tours, and other adventure tours. Depending on the time of year, visitors may spot whales, manatees, and dolphins. In addition, Port Aransas Beach hosts many interesting events and festivals throughout the year, including music concerts and the famous "Texas SandFest". Dogs are welcome on the beach if they are on a leash, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center features a 700-foot boardwalk with a covered observation tower that offers Instagram-worthy views of the freshwater marsh where visitors can spot a wide variety of birds, alligators, fish, and other native species, including the Black-bellied Whistling Duck, Cinnamon Teal, the flaming pink Roseate Spoonbills, grebes, herons, egrets, cormorants, and shorebirds. Wetland Park is a small park overlooking tidal flats and marsh habitats that is home to many shorebirds. It is an ideal spot for watching birds and offers many amenities, including a boardwalk, a gazebo, and a path for people with disabilities. Roberts Point Park is a dog-friendly waterfront park spread over 50 acres and offers many amenities, including a pavilion, an observation tower, a playground with swing sets, benches, picnic areas, picnic tables, and restrooms. The park attracts a large influx of visitors and hosts many interesting activities and events throughout the year. Red Dragon Pirate Cruises is a pirate-themed boat that sails in the waters of the Lydia Ann Channel in Port Aransas, which provides amazing cruising experiences. It offers many fun activities, including interactive pirate shows, treasure hunts, cannon fire, dolphin viewing, sword fighting, live entertainment, and themed food. If you are looking for another nearby attraction, the Port Aransas Museum is a very small museum that has a gallery that displays interesting exhibits, artifacts, photographs, and related memorabilia that provides interesting insight into the maritime history and heritage of the Port Aransas region.
