Clarks Hill Park Recreation Area is situated on the shores of J. Strom Thurmond Lake, also known as Clarks Hill Lake, which spans across the South Carolina and Georgia border. This 70,000-acre lake offers over 1,000 miles of shoreline, providing ample opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking. The area is characterized by a mixed pine and hardwood forest, offering scenic views and a variety of wildlife, including southern bald eagles and whitetail deer. The park features picnic shelters with electrical hookups, flush and vault toilets, a beach, and a boat ramp, making it an ideal spot for family outings and outdoor enthusiasts.
