Located in the town of Kailua Kona, Kamakahonu Beach is a small and narrow beach situated in front of Kailua Bay west of the historic Hulihe’e Palace. Also known as King Kam Beach and Kids’ Beach, Kamakahonu Beach was named after a turtle eye-shaped rock as “Kamakahonu” in Hawaiian means turtle eye.
