Overview
Located in the southern part of the island of Oahu, Royal Hawaiian Beach - also known as Royal Moana Beach and Waikiki Beach Center - is a wide beach with pale cream-colored sand, nearby trees, and a sloping incline. The beach is located near an upscale hotel named The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki. Royal Hawaiian Beach also has a wonderful background of oceanfront buildings. This beach is part of a larger beach area named Waikiki Beach. A rocky seawall named the Royal Hawaiian Groin is also located in the western end of this beach and a statue of the eminent surfer Duke Kahanamoku is located to the east of the beach.

jet-skiing, surf-skiing, water-skiing, scuba diving, and paddleboarding. The water near Royal Hawaiian Beach is warm
and it also has a fairly narrow depth, making it ideal for beginner swimmers,
canoers, and paddle boarders. The water
near the beach occasionally offers fun surfing waves - this makes the beach
ideal for surfers. Snorkelers and scuba
divers also occasionally enter the water near the beach in order to explore the
vibrant marine life here - depending on the time of the year, you can see many
kinds of animals in the water near this beach including migrating whales, sea
turtles, Hawaiian monk seals, and many kinds of fish.
However, if you are planning to enter the
water near Royal Hawaiian Beach, we recommend being careful because the water
here is known to have unpredictable rip currents and rogue waves. If you are planning to fish near Royal

Getting to Royal
Hawaiian Beach is easy - this beach is located adjacent to The Royal Hawaiian,
a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki (which is located at 2259 Kalakaua
Avenue). There is an access path along
Kalakaua Avenue from where you can easily walk to Royal Hawaiian Beach. A parking garage is also available near the
Royal Hawaiian Beach at a nearby shopping center named the Royal Hawaiian Center (the center is located
at 2201 Kalakaua Avenue, which is a six-minute walk from the Royal Hawaiian
Beach). You can also get your parking
validated here by purchasing ten dollars worth of goods from their shops and
restaurants - you can visit the Royal Hawaiian Center’s website for more
information regarding their validated parking rates.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Royal Hawaiian Beach. Aliʻiōlani Hale is a 19th century building which was designed in the Italian Renaissance style by the Australian architect Thomas Rowe - this building currently houses the Hawaiʻi State Supreme Court. Tourists can admire this building’s unique architectural features and also visit the Hawaii State Judiciary History Center present inside Aliʻiōlani Hale - this center has interesting historic exhibitions and memorabilia. Aliʻiōlani Hale also has a gold-leaf statue of the Hawaiian king Kamehameha the Great and it is also a part of the United States’ National Register of Historic Places. Lucoral Museum offers a unique insight into Hawaii’s natural and geological history and it also has a vast collection of rocks, fossils, precious stones, and sculptures. The museum also offers interesting jewellery making workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays. ‘Iolani Palace is a National Historic Landmark and is the only official state residence of royalty in the United States - this beautiful 19th century palace has unique European architectural influences. The palace offers a unique insight into the history of Hawaii and it also has regalia belonging to Hawaiian nobility - you can explore the palace’s premises via guided and self guided tours. This park has many amenities including large grassy areas with many kinds of trees, restrooms, lifeguards, showers, picnic tables, tennis courts, concession stands, and a pavilion. The park also hosts many fun events throughout the year – one of the most popular events is the Memorial Day Lantern Floating Ceremony that is organized in the memory of the brave members of the United States Armed Forces.
