Located in the southern part of the island of Oahu, Royal Hawaiian Beach - also known as Royal Moana Beach and Waikiki Beach Center - is a wide beach with pale cream-colored sand, nearby trees, and a sloping incline.  The beach is located near an upscale hotel named The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki.  Royal Hawaiian Beach also has a wonderful background of oceanfront buildings.  This beach is part of a larger beach area named Waikiki Beach.  A rocky seawall named the Royal Hawaiian Groin is also located in the western end of this beach and a statue of the eminent surfer Duke Kahanamoku is located to the east of the beach. 

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Royal Hawaiian Beach.  Hula Grill Waikiki serves amazing Hawaiian-inspired gourmet dishes for lunch, breakfast, and dinner including loco moco, French toasts, poultry dishes, seafood, burgers, and steaks.  Duke’s Waikiki is a popular restaurant that is named after the legendary surfer Duke Kahanamoku and it serves amazing dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner including  eggs, granola, steaks, seafood, pork chops, salads, tacos, sandwiches, burgers, and poultry dishes - many of the restaurant’sdishes exhibit local Hawaiian and international culinary influences.  Paia Fish Market primarily serves excellent seafood for lunch and dinner. In addition, the restaurant also serves amazing burgers, pastas, salads, quesadillas, tacos, chicken dishes, and salads.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Royal Hawaiian Beach, Blue Ocean Seafood and Steak offers amazing chicken dishes, salads, pastas, and tacos, along with amazing steaks and seafood platters.  As another modestly priced option, Mahaloha Burger serves amazing burgers, hot dogs, pupu platters, and fries.

If you are looking for a hotel near Royal Hawaiian Beach, there are many great nearby hotels.  The 5-Star The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki offers many amenities including a spa, multiple pools,  poolside cabanas, a laundry service, a water-based playground with water slides and a fountain area for kids, multiple jaccuzzis, a private beach area, two restaurants, and a bar.  The 4-Star Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach is a historic hotel that was built around the turn of the 20th century and offers many amenities including multiple restaurants, a spa, a convenience store, laundry facilities, a pool, fitness center, and a conveniene store.  In addition, the hotel also organizes many fun activities including historic tours and lei making sessions.  A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star OHANA Waikiki East by Outrigger offers many amenities including a hot tub, a pool, a game room, a courtyard, a gym, a cafe, an ATM, laundry facilities, local area shuttle services, shopping stores, and two restaurants (including an American restaurant that has piano music).  If you are looking for another good and affordable hotel near Royal Hawaiian Beach, Royal Grove Waikiki offers many amenities including a courtyard swimming pool with chairs, a reading area, a sundeck, coin-operated laundry facilities, card tables, a nearby Korean Barbeque restaurant, a nearby Japanese sushi bar, and a nearby health-food shop.

Royal Hawaiian Beach offers many amenities including lifeguards, showers, restrooms, concession stands, and nearby watersporting equipment rental facility (this facility is available at the nearby The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki).  Royal Hawaiian Beach also allows dogs on leash.  

Royal Hawaiian Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, wildlife watching, fishing, picnicking, beachcombing, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, kitesurfing, windsurfing, skimboarding, kayaking, canoeing, boating, jet-skiing, surf-skiing, water-skiing, scuba diving, and paddleboarding.  The water near Royal Hawaiian Beach is warm and it also has a fairly narrow depth, making it ideal for beginner swimmers, canoers, and paddle boarders.  The water near the beach occasionally offers fun surfing waves - this makes the beach ideal for surfers.  Snorkelers and scuba divers also occasionally enter the water near the beach in order to explore the vibrant marine life here - depending on the time of the year, you can see many kinds of animals in the water near this beach including migrating whales, sea turtles, Hawaiian monk seals, and many kinds of fish.  

However, if you are planning to enter the water near Royal Hawaiian Beach, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents and rogue waves.  If you are planning to fish near Royal Hawaiian Beach, please follow the local fishing regulations that can be found at
the website of the Division of Aquatic Resources (which is a part of the State of Hawaii’sDepartment of Land and Natural Resources).  If you like taking pictures with beautiful views, Royal Hawaiian Beach also offers amazing views of a nearby iconic geological formation named Diamond Head, along with fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean

Getting to Royal Hawaiian Beach is easy - this beach is located adjacent to The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki (which is located at 2259 Kalakaua Avenue).  There is an access path along Kalakaua Avenue from where you can easily walk to Royal Hawaiian Beach.  A parking garage is also available near the Royal Hawaiian Beach at a nearby shopping center named the Royal Hawaiian Center (the center is located at 2201 Kalakaua Avenue, which is a six-minute walk from the Royal Hawaiian Beach).  You can also get your parking validated here by purchasing ten dollars worth of goods from their shops and restaurants - you can visit the Royal Hawaiian Center’s website for more information regarding their validated parking rates.

There are many attractions near Royal Hawaiian Beach.  Aliʻiōlani Hale is a 19th century building which was designed in the Italian Renaissance style by the Australian architect Thomas Rowe - this building currently houses the Hawaiʻi State Supreme Court.  Tourists can admire this building’s unique architectural features and also visit the Hawaii State Judiciary History Center present inside Aliʻiōlani Hale - this center has interesting historic exhibitions and memorabilia.  Aliʻiōlani Hale also has a gold-leaf statue of the Hawaiian king Kamehameha the Great and it is also a part of the United States’ National Register of Historic Places.  Lucoral Museum offers a unique insight into Hawaii’s natural and geological history and it also has a vast collection of rocks, fossils, precious stones, and sculptures.  The museum also offers interesting jewellery making workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  ‘Iolani Palace is a National Historic Landmark and is the only official state residence of royalty in the United States - this beautiful 19th century palace has unique European architectural influences.  The palace offers a unique insight into the history of Hawaii and it also has regalia belonging to Hawaiian nobility - you can explore the palace’s premises via guided and self guided tours.  If you are looking for another attraction near Royal Hawaiian Beach, Ala Moana Regional Park – also called Ala Moana Beach Park - is a 100-acre park that has a popular golden sand beach - this beach is also named Ala Moana Beach and it offers many fun activities including beachcombing, swimming, fishing, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, picnicking, and tennis.  This park has many amenities including large grassy areas with many kinds of trees, restrooms, lifeguards, showers, picnic tables, tennis courts, concession stands, and a pavilion.  The park also hosts many fun events throughout the year – one of the most popular events is the Memorial Day Lantern Floating Ceremony that is organized in the memory of the brave members of the United States Armed Forces.
