Located in the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu, Fort DeRussy Beach Park is a waterfront recreational park that has a wide and 1,800 feet long beach with light brown sand and nearby palm trees. This beach is also known as Fort DeRussy Beach. The sand in the south-eastern part of the beach in Fort DeRussy Beach Park is finer than the sand in other parts of the beach. The beach in Fort DeRussy is also part of a larger beach named Waikiki Beach - this beach comprises a quarter of Waikiki Beach. Fort DeRussy Park has also been awarded the Fodor’s Choice award by the Fodor’s travel guide. Fort DeRussy Beach Park is named after René Edward De Russy, who was a military officer in the United States Army and he also served as the superintendent of the United States Military Academy. The area around the beach was initially a closed military installation that was a part of the local coastal defense system. Many upscale hotels are present near Fort DeRussy Beach Park including The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki and Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach.

Getting to Fort DeRussy Beach Park is easy - the park is located near 2055 Kalia Road and paid parking lots are also present near the park. You can also park at the paid and free parking lots at Ala Wai Boat Harbor (present near 1651 Ala Moana Boulevard) - you can easily walk to Fort DeRussy Beach Park from the harbor.
