Causeway Islands Park - Island A is situated in Punta Rassa, Florida, and is part of a series of islands linking Sanibel Island to the mainland. This beautiful beach is approximately 2000 feet long and features soft white sand. It offers a serene environment for both relaxation and water activities. The location is ideal for those who enjoy shelling, kayaking, and fishing. However, due to recent construction, some activities may be restricted. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding waters and wildlife like dolphins and pelicans. Despite some closures, the area remains a popular stop for nature lovers and beachgoers.
The Causeway Islands Park, which includes both Island A and Island B, is accessible via Sanibel Causeway Road. Island A primarily offers parking, while Island B provides additional amenities such as restrooms and picnic tables. The park is a significant spot for picnicking, swimming, and other beach activities when fully operational.
The park is managed by Lee County and has faced temporary closures following Hurricane Ian, which severely impacted the Sanibel Causeway. Permanent repairs were completed in 2024 to enhance its resilience against future storms.
