The museum exhibits more than 150 aircraft and spacecraft including four former Blue Angels A-4 Skyhawks, the Curtiss NC-4, U. S. Coast Guard helicopters, biplanes, a K-47 Airship control gondola and tail fin, and the S-3 Viking. Pensacola Lighthouse & Maritime Museum features a 150ft lighthouse built in 1858. The Keeper’s Quarters of the Pensacola Light Station exhibits replica lenses that illustrate the functionality of various lighting techniques and other artifacts related to the history of the lighthouse, maritime, and Coast Guard. Pensacola Museum of Art was founded in 1954 and exhibits 20th and 21st century works by renowned artists such as Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Leonard Baskin, Salvador Dali, Thomas Hart Benton, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and Kathe Kollwitz. If you are looking for another attraction near East Perdido Key State Park, Fort Barrancas is a military fort and National Historic Landmark. Located on the hill, the ancient Spanish fort was rebuilt and considerably enlarged in brick. Following World War II, the United States Army deactivated Fort Barrancas on April 15, 1947, due to changing requirements.
