Overview
Located in the community of Pensacola Beach, Quietwater Beach - also known as QuietWater Beach, Mom’s Beach, and Quiet Water Beach - is a narrow white sand beach. This beach is situated along the shores of the Santa Rosa Sound on the northern portion of the Santa Rosa Island. The beach spans between the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk – also known as the Portofino Boardwalk and the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk – and the Pensacola Beach Bridge toll booth. Quietwater Beach has multiple piers. This beach is named Quietwater Beach apparently due to the calm or "quiet" water present near it, as compared to the rougher water found near other beaches of Pensacola Beach. The area near this beach also has an amphitheater, along with a sculpture of a seashell that is also known as "The Shell."

The shallow and calm water near Quietwater Beach makes it ideal for beginner swimmers, kayakers, paddleboarders, and canoers. If you like birdwatching, you can view lots of seagulls around Quietwater Beach. However, we recommend being careful as the seagulls can occasionally behave aggressively towards visitors. Depending on the time of the year, you can also view many kinds of marine animals in the water near this beach including hermit crabs, dolphins, and manatees. Getting to Quietwater Beach is easy - the beach is situated near the southern end of Pensacola Beach Boulevard (which is a part of Florida State Road 399) and is easily accessible from United States Highway 98 (also known as the U.S. Route 98). Paid parking lots and metered street parking spaces are also available near this beach. We recommend visiting this beach early as this beach can get crowded quickly.

There are many attractions near Quietwater Beach within a 25-minute drive. Pensacola Museum of Art has interesting exhibitions specializing in modern art. In addition, the museum also has a decorative arts collection of European, American, and African tribal glass-based artworks. The museum also has artwork by many reputed artists including Salvador Dalí, Alex Katz, and Milton Avery. William Bartram Memorial Park (also known as Bartram Park) is a two-and-a-half acre recreational waterfront park. This park has picnic areas, benches, walking paths, grassy areas, and oak trees. This park also has interesting interpretive signs. If you are looking for another attraction near Quietwater Beach, the Pensacola Beach Fishing Pier offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the North Floridian shoreline and the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, this pier is also a great fishing spot - you can catch many kinds of fish in the water near the pier during summers including sea trouts, redfish, bluefish, and pompano. On rare occasions, you can even catch a flounder or cobia here.
