The state park also has many amenities including showers, a boat launching facility, a concession stand, a gazebo, a restroom, a children's playground, a picnic area, and rental facilities for beach chairs, umbrellas, and a watersport equipment place. The Everglades Wonder Gardens (also known as the Bonita Wonder Gardens) is a botanical garden that is spread over three acres and is a 20-minute drive away. This park has a variety of exotic flora - you can view many kinds of plants here including orchids, African mahogany trees, and staghorn ferns. This garden is also home to many kinds of wonderful animals including flamingos, parrots, peafowl, cockatoos, lizards, and alligators - most of these animals have been rescued by the local authorities and have been sheltered here. In addition, the garden premises also have a native butterfly garden, a souvenir shop, and an art gallery. If you are looking for another attraction near Bonita Beach Dog Park, the Holocaust Museum and Cohen Education Center has exhibitions which provide a sombre insight into the lives and struggles of victims of the Holocaust during the 1940s. The center seeks to keep the stories of the Holocaust victims alive in the public memory, in order to avoid the resurgence of any similar large scale socio-political persecutions.
