Spalding Docks

Located in the city of Susanville in Lassen County, Spalding Docks has a long and wide beige sand beach.  The beach is positioned adjacent to Eagle Lake RV Park on the shores of Eagle Lake in the Lassen National Forest.

Spalding Docks does not have lifeguards but offers many amenities including restrooms, a picnic area with picnic tables, and a marina.

Getting to Spalding Docks is easy - it has a paid parking lot located at 502-705 The Strand, which is easily accessible via Highway 206 and provides easy access to the camp.

Spalding Docks is surrounded by a mature coniferous forest of pines and firs that offers majestic views, especially during sunset.

There are many attractions near Spalding Docks. Susanville Ranch Park is spread over 1,100 acres and is home to meadows, woodlands, creeks, and riparian areas.  This dog-friendly park offers many fun activities, including hiking, wildlife watching, running, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.  Lassen Historical Museum is a small museum that has a gallery that displays interesting exhibits, artifacts, photographs, and related memorabilia that provides interesting insight into the history of Lassen County and its surrounding areas, highlighting the stories of the people, events, and industries that have shaped the community over time.   Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail is a 25-mile-long hiking trail that winds from the town of Susanville to Mason Station.  This dirt and gravel trail passes two tunnels, trestles, and a number of bridges as it meanders along the Susan River through a grove of fir and pine trees.  Hikers can enjoy many fun activities, including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, swimming, watching wildlife, cross-country skiing, and snowmobile riding.  Riverside Park is a small family-friendly neighborhood park that offers many amenities, including a large playground with swing sets, a baseball court, restrooms, water fountains, benches, picnic areas, picnic tables, a barbecue grill facility, and trash cans.  If you are looking for another attraction near Spalding Docks, Osprey Overlook Trail is a small paved hiking trail that offers incredible views of Eagle Lake. It is also a popular nesting site for ospreys, where many artificial nesting poles have been erected on the western side of the lake.
