Located near Orick, Orick Fishing Access Beach is a beach with gray sand and multiple rock formations. This beach is situated at the base of oceanfront hills and is a part of a national park named Redwood National Park. The Redwood Creek flows through the southern end of the beach into the Pacific Ocean.

Parking
In order to access Orick Fishing Access Beach, you need to turn west on the first road present to the north of Orick Creek Bridge. This road, called Hufford Road, has signs that will direct you to Orick Fishing Access Beach. It is important to note that Hufford Road is a narrow road and large vehicles including trailers and RVs are prohibited here. A free parking lot is available near this beach. We recommend visiting this beach wearing appropriate footwear as it is known to have driftwood.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Orick Fishing Access Beach within a 40-minute drive. The Tour Thru tree (also known as the Tour-Thru tree) is a giant redwood tree with a large tunnel running through it. This tree is a popular local attraction and many cars drive through the tunnel within this tree every year. In addition, the area around this tree has picnic tables, restrooms, and a gift shop, and is also known to be home to many emu birds. The McKinleyville Totem Pole is around 160 feet tall and is reputedly one of the largest totem poles in the world to be carved from a single tree. If you are looking for another attraction near Orick Fishing Access Beach, Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse was built in the late 1940s and is a replica of another nearby lighthouse named Trinidad Head Lighthouse, which was constructed in 1871. The Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse also has an original Fresnel lens dating back to the 19th century, which was previously installed in the Trinidad Head Lighthouse. The Trinidad Civic Club organizes an annual ceremony on the lighthouse premises on Memorial Day to commemorate the lives of people who have died or have been buried at sea.
