The Point Fermin Park present above the beach offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Southern California shoreline and the Pacific Ocean. In addition, the park also offers interesting views of the nearby Sunken City ruins. Please note that access to "Sunken City'' is currently prohibited. Point Fermin Park also has the Point Fermin Lighthouse, which was built in the 19th century and displays interesting Victorian Stick-style architecture. The lighthouse is open between Tuesday and Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm. Guided tours of the lighthouse premises are offered every hour at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm between Tuesday and Sunday. Many interesting events are also organized in Point Fermin Park Beach - the non-profit organization Shakespeare by the Sea frequently enacts plays written by Shakespeare in Point Fermin Park during summers. In addition, Point Fermin Park also hosts a music concert series named Music by the Sea. This concert series sees live music performances being organized in the park during Sunday afternoons in the summers.
