Located in the city of Avalon, Long Point Beach is a northeast-facing beach on Catalina Island surrounded by a high rock wall named Long Point. Also known as Pirates Cove, Long Point Beach is a boat-in beach and features a paid boat-in campground.

There are many fun activities at Long Point Beach including swimming, scuba diving, camping, kayaking, and boating. Visitors can take a one-hour Catalina Express ferry ride to reach Avalon Harbor dock in Catalina Island from Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Dana Point. Once you get here, you can rent a boat or kayak from Avalon Harbor to get to Long Point Beach and anchor it 100 yards outside the mooring area.

If you are looking for nearby attractions, there are many within a 50-minute golf cart drive of Long Point Beach. Catalina Island Museum is a 67-year-old museum that is home to more than 8,000 years old artifacts of human settlement on Catalina Island that include pottery and tile collections, photographs and negatives from the early 1880s, boat models, sport fishing items, and the largest collections of Tongva and Gabrielino artifacts. Spread across 38 acres, the Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Garden feature California island endemic plants that grow only here in the world. If you like escape rooms, the pirate-themed Catalina Room Escape is a fun and challenging tourist attraction site where you have to escape a pirate ship in under an hour. Another great attraction near Long Point Beach is Machine Gun Park, a small historical park that has a German machine gun from World War I.

If you get hungry, it is advisable to plan and carry snacks as there are not many restaurants near Long Point Beach. The closest restaurant Naughty Fox is 37-minutes away and is a family-friendly beachfront restaurant that offers seafood and cocktails. If you like Asian food, Katie's Kitchen features fried rice, tofu, Chinese hamburgers, Peking duck, live music, and an incredible patio setting. Another great restaurant is Original Antonio's, a 1950s-style Italian eatery with tablecloths having red and white checks that serves pizza, pasta, subs, and beer.
