Radhanagar Beach, located on the Andaman Islands, is a sight to behold. The lush greenery sits right at the shoreline, where green and turquoise waters meet soft, white sand. Mother Earth certainly did her best work on this island, beckoning nature enthusiasts to the water's edge.

The beach is best for sunbathing and swimming, and there are palapas available on the sand. The beach has a gentle slope as you wade out in the water, so you'll never have to worry about dangerous sea currents or suddenly deep waters. There are no watersports on Radhanagar, giving you the simple joy of sand and sea. You can also visit Shiv Temple and Radhakrishna Temple near the beach, each a simplistic and rustic place of worship. There are a few restaurants where you can experience the Bengali-style and Chettinad-style cuisines -- be adventurous and have a bite of Dimer Dhokkar Dalna and Luchi, a dish of steamed cakes in a traditional curry. Barefoot Bar & Restaurant is a renowned dining spot, located within the beautiful Barefoot Resort.

The best time to visit is October to February, when the weather is at its best. The winter sunsets are absolutely breathtaking, with soft oranges and yellows coloring the sky and water. A sweeping mile long beach (1.6 kilometers) with no permanent structures, Palolem Beach is a wonderful place to spend a lazy day lounging in the sun, playing beach soccer, or going scuba diving (among dozens of other activities). With no permanent structures on the beach – temporary huts are erected every season here instead – Palolem Beach has a much more rustic and natural feel than other, more developed beaches. As night falls, the southern part of the beach turns into a silent disco where visitors can listen to their own tunes and dance on the beach as the waves crash at their feet.
