Top Camping Beaches in Shelter Cove, California
Located along the southern Humboldt county shoreline, Needle Rock Beach is a small beach with dark-colored sand. This beach is situated below oceanfront bluffs and is a part of a state park named Sinkyone Wilderness State Park. A tall narrow sea-stack named Needle Rock is also present near this beach. Needle Rock Beach does not have restrooms. However, the area around this beach has many other amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, and hiking trails. Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
Located in the western portion of the community of Shelter Cove, Mal Coombs Park is a blufftop recreational park with an unnamed rocky beach below it. This beach has both sandy and pebbly portions and is also sometimes known as Mal Coombs Beach. A lighthouse named Cape Mendocino Lighthouse is also present in the blufftop area above this beach.
