Overview
Located in the Jamaican resort town of Negril, Seven Mile Beach – also called Negril Seven Mile Beach – is a popular seven-mile-long beautiful beach with white sand.
TripAdvisor listed this famous beach as one of the best beaches in the world in 2018 and 2019 as part of its Travellers’ Choice award. In addition, Lonely Planet also listed this Jamaican beach as one of the best beaches in Jamaica, and it is a favorite of Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as Mr. Beach.
This beach is separated into two unequal parts by a headland – the northern portion of this beach is two miles long while the southern portion of this beach is almost five miles long. The bay near the northern part of the beach is known as Bloody Bay and the bay near the southern part of the beach is called Long Bay.
This beach should not be confused with another popular beach called Seven Mile Beach which is located in the Cayman Islands.

Parking
Getting to Seven Mile Beach is easy – this beach is located along a road named Norman Manley Boulevard and it is easily accessible from Negril’s central part. There are a few free street parking spaces and small free parking lots nearby. In addition, you can also park at the parking lots of some of the restaurants near the beach for free if you are dining there. We recommend avoiding leaving valuables in your parked car because burglaries are common here.
If you want to travel by ferry, you can get a ferry to this beach from the nearby city of Montego Bay and the nearby town of Ocho Rios. There are many local private organizations that offer catamaran tours of this beach – you can find the details about these organizations through the internet.
We recommend being careful while visiting this beach with family because some visitors often smoke marijuana here.
