Spiaggia Naturista di Torre Salsa offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, fishing, swimming, tidepooling, boating, jet-skiing, surf-skiing, water-skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, and wildlife watching.
This beach is ideal for beginner swimmers because the crystal clear water here is known to have gentle waves. If you plan to swim, kayak, or paddleboard here, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents. In addition, the rocky shoreline around the beach can also cause many injuries.
If you like hiking, you can hike near the beach through hiking trails and explore many interesting things to see including agricultural land, geological formations, a natural amphitheater named Valle del Ginepreo, abandoned quarries, and many interesting historic landmarks including Byzantine-era tombs, remains of ancient watchtowers, and rural houses.
If you like taking pictures with excellent views, Spiaggia di Torre Salsa offers amazing Instagram-worthy and panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the southwestern Siculiana shoreline. This beach is ideal for visitors looking for a quieter beach experience because it sees fewer visitors as compared to other nearby Sicilian beaches.
If you like birdwatching, you can see many resident and migratory birds around the beach including peregrine falcons, seagulls, and crows. In addition, the reserve also has a rich biodiversity and you can also see many terrestrial and aquatic animals here including porcupines and caretta turtles – the loggerhead sea turtles also use this beach as a seasonal nesting site.
If you visit Torre Salsa Nature Reserve between June 30th and September 15th, you can also have a guided tour of this reserve on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday – if you want a guided tour, you can visit the reserve’s visitor center or contact the reserve authorities by phone at +39 (327) 774-2954.
