Cayo Levantado Beach, also known as Bacardi Island, is a pristine white sand beach located on a small island off the coast of Samaná, Dominican Republic.
Cayo Levantado Beach offers several amenities including bathroom access, lounge chairs and umbrellas, and a few small vendors selling refreshments.
The beach is approximately 1.5 kilometers long and features crystal clear turquoise water, making it an ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
There is no parking lot on the island since it is only accessible by boat. Visitors can take a boat tour from the mainland, which often includes transportation to and from the island.
Fun fact: Cayo Levantado was once a hideout for pirates in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Aside from the beautiful beach, there are other attractions on the island such as hiking trails and a small waterfall. Visitors can also take a short hike to the top of the island for a panoramic view of the surrounding waters.
There are several restaurants located on the island that offer fresh seafood and traditional Dominican cuisine. Some of the popular options include El Timon de Don Julio and Paradaise Restaurant.
