Located in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney, Turimetta Beach – also known as Little Narrabeen Beach – is a 350-meter-long east-facing beach with light brown sand, a few rocky portions, and nearby oceanfront bluffs and headlands.
Amenities
Turimetta Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities except nearby hiking trails, nearby grassy areas, and nearby observation areas, so please plan accordingly.
Dogs are not allowed at this beach.

Turimetta Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, swimming, fishing, surfing, bodysurfing, tidepooling, kitesurfing, windsurfing, boating, bodyboarding, jet-skiing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, kayaking, canoeing, surf-skiing, and wildlife watching.
Turimetta Beach is ideal for strong and expert surfers because the water here is sometimes known to have powerful surfing waves – the northern end of the beach is a particularly popular site. If you are planning to swim, surf, kayak, or canoe here, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents and considerably dangerous waves. The water near the center of the beach and at the beach’s northern and southern ends is particularly known to be turbulent. The rocky shoreline around this beach can also cause serious injuries.
If you like fishing, Turimetta Head – which is located at the northern end of this beach – is a popular rock fishing site and you can catch many kinds of fish here. If you like tidepooling, there are rocky tidepools at the southern end of the beach that you can explore at low tide. If you like paragliding, the area around Turimetta Beach is a popular paraglider launching site.
There is also an observation area near this beach named Turimetta Beach Lookout – this observation area offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the New South Wales shoreline and the Turimetta Beach sunrise and sunset.
This beach is ideal for visitors looking for a quieter beach experience because this beach sees fewer visitors as compared to other nearby beaches.

Pittwater Park – also informally known as Rat Park – is a stadium that is known for hosting excellent rugby matches. Lakeside Park is a waterfront park that offers many amenities including an outdoor exercise area, a playground, a walking/biking path, and a grassy recreational area. This park offers many fun activities including boating, picnicking, boating, soccer, and cricket. If you like golf, Pittwater Golf Center has a 36-hole golf course that offers a fun golfing experience. In addition, this center also has a mini-golf facility. If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, Warriewood Blowhole is a geological blowhole near Turimetta Beach Narrabeen that is a popular site for photography. It has been featured in the popular Australian television show Home and Away – while some visitors attempt to dive into the blowhole, we recommend avoiding doing so because this can cause injuries.
