Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve

Located in Port Washington, Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve offers a beautiful beach with a length of approximately 0.5 miles. The sand color at the beach is beige.

There are no lifeguards on duty, and bathroom access is limited to portable toilets. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, hiking, and bird watching.

Fun fact: Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve was named after the 1852 shipwreck of the schooner Lion's Den.
