Lost Creek Bog is a unique natural area located in Cornucopia, Wisconsin, featuring a Lake Superior estuarine system. It is characterized by a mix of shore fen, open sedge bog, shrub swamp, and northern wet forest dominated by tamarack. The area is home to diverse flora and fauna, including rare plants and animals. The bog is part of a larger ecosystem that includes the mouths of three small creeks emptying into Siskiwit Bay, separated by a coastal barrier sand spit forested with spruce and pine.
The area offers a serene and natural environment, ideal for those interested in exploring wetland ecosystems and spotting wildlife. Lost Creek Bog is owned by the Wisconsin DNR and was designated a State Natural Area in 1993.
Visitors can access the area via canoe/kayak or explore the surrounding uplands adjacent to Highway 13 or Roman Point Road.
