West Point Light House Beach

West Point Lighthouse Beach is located on the northern edge of Seattle's Discovery Park, one of the largest urban parks in the United States. The beach is a small, rocky shoreline with dark sand and pebbles.

There are no lifeguards on duty, and dogs are allowed on a leash. Other amenities include restrooms, showers, and picnic tables.

Visitors can swim, sunbathe, picnic, and watch boats go by.

There is a parking lot at the park entrance, and it is paid parking. Visitors can also reach the beach via hiking trails from the park's interior.

Fun fact: West Point Lighthouse was built in 1881 and is still in use today. It stands at 23 feet tall and is located on a small peninsula at the northwestern tip of the park.

Nearby attractions include the Discovery Park Loop Trail, which offers stunning views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. The park also features several historic military buildings, including Fort Lawton, which was used during World War II.
