Beartree Recreation Area, located in the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest near Damascus, Virginia, offers a serene and family-friendly environment. The area features Beartree Lake, surrounded by dense trees, and offers opportunities for fishing, hiking, and camping. The Beartree Lake Trail, partially paved, is ideal for both hiking and fishing. The campground includes both individual and group campsites, with amenities like picnic areas and restrooms. However, the beach is closed to swimming.
