Located on the eastern end of the city of Cranston within Providence County, Edgewood Beach is a very small beige sand beach. The beach has a beautiful background of many oceanfront buildings, including a few hotels and many homes along the Providence River, which together provide incredible views.

Edgewood Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities except a fishing pier and a boat ramp, so plan your trip accordingly.

In addition, the park hosts interesting events and live concerts throughout the year. Museum of Natural History and Planetarium has a large gallery that displays interesting exhibits related to natural history, local geology, paleontology, biology, and native biodiversity. It also has a planetarium that showcases intriguing week-end shows related to astronomy, space exploration, and the night sky. The museum also hosts many educational programs and events that attract people of all ages. Pomham Rocks Lighthouse is located on a rocky outcrop along the Providence River, which flows into Narragansett Bay. This 39-foot-tall lighthouse is no longer an active aid to navigation, but visitors can explore this historic building through interesting guided tours.
The John Brown House Museum is an 18th-century, well-preserved home of John Brown, a renowned merchant and politician of his time. Visitors can explore this Georgian-style villa, period furnishings, and unique collection of artifacts through guided tours that provide interesting insight into the cultural heritage of the Brown family.
